“Democracy now deeply established in Africa” — Tinubu says as he extends his congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the newly elected President of Senegal at the age of 44.

 





   President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his well-earned victory as the newly elected President of Senegal.


  In a statement released by his spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended the President-elect, highlighting his impressive potential and remarkable track record. He expressed his sincere wishes for success as Mr. Faye takes on the important role of leading the people of Senegal.


  Additionally, President Tinubu congratulated His Excellency, President Macky Sall, for overseeing an election that has been praised for its peaceful and transparent nature.


  The President emphasized that the recent successful presidential election in Senegal, along with the general election in Liberia a few months ago, reinforces his belief in the strong foundation of democracy in West Africa. He believes that with good governance, justice, and fairness, democracy in the region will continue to flourish.


   In his capacity as the Chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu stated that the successful election in Senegal is a positive step for the sub-regional organization in its mission to promote peace, uphold constitutional order, and enhance cooperation among member states.
