Diddy and Cassie Resolve Dispute Following Rape Allegation
Renowned American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs and R&B singer Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, have reached a settlement in the federal lawsuit filed by Cassie, just a day after she made explosive rape accusations against the hip-hop mogul.
According to a report by Dailymail on Saturday, both Diddy and Cassie released statements on Friday evening, announcing the resolution of the matter without disclosing specific details about the terms of the settlement.
Cassie stated, "I have chosen to resolve this matter amicably, on terms that I have some level of control over. I would like to express my gratitude to my family, fans, and legal team for their unwavering support."
In his own statement, Diddy said, "We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. With love."
The lawsuit, which was filed on Thursday, accused Diddy of rape and prolonged physical abuse, alleging control and mistreatment over a span of ten years. Cassie claimed that Diddy forcefully entered her home and raped her shortly before their breakup in 2018. Diddy vehemently denied all allegations, deeming them "offensive and outrageous."
Cassie revealed in the legal documents, "After years of silence and darkness, I am finally ready to share my story and speak out on behalf of myself and other women who experience violence and abuse in their relationships."
Her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, commended her for publicly filing the lawsuit and disclosed that Diddy had offered her a significant sum of money to prevent the case from being filed, an offer she declined in order to "give a voice to all women who suffer in silence."
The lawsuit contained serious allegations, including claims that Diddy engaged in sex trafficking with male prostitutes involving Cassie, fulfilling voyeuristic fantasies. Cassie described these encounters as "horrific" and mentioned using drugs to dissociate during what Diddy allegedly referred to as "freak-offs." The lawsuit also detailed instances of physical abuse, such as Diddy punching Cassie in the face during one of these encounters in 2016.
Furthermore, the legal case detailed instances in which Diddy purportedly organized "wild parties" in different hotel suites, encompassing numerous individuals and excessive quantities of drugs provided by Diddy. It was claimed that Cassie played a role in arranging the venue and recruiting male sex workers for these gatherings.
Following the shocking allegations, the lawsuit was promptly resolved through a mutually agreeable settlement, with both parties choosing not to disclose the specific terms of the agreement.
