Ex manager, Mr Choco reveals why the police invited Mr Ibu's son and Adopted daughter.

Emeka Chochoo, the former manager of actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, has provided an explanation as to why the police invited the actor's adopted daughter, Jasmine, and two of his sons, Daniel and Val.

Earlier this week, news emerged that Mr Ibu's wife, Stella Maris, had ordered their arrests following a series of social media disputes regarding the control of the actor's account.

Doris Ogala, a Nollywood actress who shared the news on Instagram, alleged that Jasmine and the actor's sons were arrested and held at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Alagbon, Lagos. The allegations claimed that Jasmine had transferred N300 million from the actor's account. It was further alleged that Mr Ibu's wife wanted them to use the contributed funds to purchase a new house for her, which led to Jasmine's arrest. However, investigations have revealed that the total amount contributed was not even up to N300 million.

Nevertheless, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent on Thursday, Chochoo confirmed that all three individuals were invited by the police regarding the actor's account. He clarified that Val, who recently returned to the country, was not involved in the ongoing situation and was unaware of the events that had transpired.

He said "Jasmine and Ibu’s sons were arrested at Alagbon Police Station. They are detained there. Ibu’s wife alleged that Jasmine moved N300 million out of the account. Ibu’s wife allegedly wanted them to buy her new house from the money contributed so far for Ibu’s treatments. That’s why she arrested Jasmine. But investigation states that the money contributed isn’t even up to N300 million," she wrote.

Nevertheless, during a telephone conversation on Thursday, Chochoo verified that the police had indeed invited all three individuals regarding the actor's account.

'Yes, they were all invited by the police. I won't call it arrest; the police invited them over Mr Ibu's account. However, Val is left out as he knows nothing about what's been happening. He just returned to the country.

"I have not been able to reach any of them," Chochoo said.

Upon reaching out to Stella Maris for her response regarding the accusation, she opted not to provide any comment.

"Please, I do not want to say anything about it, please," she said before ending the call.

As of the time of submitting this report, all attempts to contact Jasmine have been unsuccessful.

After undergoing several surgeries, Okafor, the actor, has been reported to be on a steady path to recovery. Additionally, he had to undergo the amputation of one of his legs, which he sought help from the public for during a medical emergency.
