The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the husband of Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi, the woman known for the "Mummy Calm Down" video.

The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the husband of Mrs. Toluige Olokoobi, the woman known for the "Mummy Calm Down" video, after she committed suicide last week. It was reported that she committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance in front of her one-year-old son. 

The video of her son asking her to calm down when she was fuming about something had gone viral on social media. A neighbor of the family said that Mrs. Olokoobi was a medicine distributor and her husband was a taxi driver and car dealer. 

The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the husband of Mrs Toluige Olokoobi, mother of “mummy calm down” boy, days after news broke that she committed suicide.

An X user, who said he was at the scene of the incident on Monday afternoon broke the news and tweeted, “The woman in the viral Mummy Calm down video has just committed suicide here in Benin."




The Edo State Police Command has confirmed that the husband of the "Mummy Calm Down" woman has been arrested. 

In addition to the arrest of Mrs. Olokoobi's husband, the Edo State Police Command has confirmed that her son, Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola, has been placed in the care of the appropriate authorities.


Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had previously praised Oreofeoluwa for his maturity and composure in the viral video, in which he asked his mother to "calm down." This case is still under investigation, and further details will be released in due course. The Edo State Police Command thanks the public for their cooperation and understanding during this time.
