The Lagos State Police has apprehended the alleged mastermind behind a fake Dangote Cement promotion.

The mastermind behind fake dangote cement promotion, Benjamin Ezeukwe was allegedly arrested by Lagos State Police command.

The suspect, who is 28 years old, is accused of deceiving innocent Nigerians in a cement price-slash scam. 

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, Ezeukwe created a bogus online advert in September 2023, claiming a massive price slash by Dangote Cement. 

The scam resulted in numerouunsuspecting customers losing millions of Naira to the suspect. Ezeukwe was arrested on October 19, 2023, in the Rumuolumeni area of Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State. 

The police also discovered one Tecno phone, one iPhone, three SIM cards, and a Toyota Avalon in his possession, which investigation revealed to be a proceed of his crime.

 Hundeyin further revealed t that the investigation has so far revealed that the suspect had perpetrated several other similar frauds and has been arraigned.
