The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the declaration of Ex-Minister, Agunloye, One Other Wanted For Alleged Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the declaration of Dr. Olu Agunloye, a former Minister of Power and Steel, as wanted for his alleged involvement in corruption and forgery. The EFCC made this announcement in a post on X platform on Wednesday morning.
It read, "The public is hereby notified that Ola Agunloye, whose photograph appears above is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in alleged case of corruption and forgery.
"Olu, 75, is from Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo State."
According to PUNCH reports, it was stated that Agunloye, who served as the President from 1999 to 2003, was accused by former President Olusegun Obasanjo of mismanaging the project. Additionally, in September, the EFCC interrogated Agunloye regarding a Build, Operate and Transfer contract worth $6 billion.
According to a report by PUNCH, it has been stated that former President Olusegun Obasanjo has accused Agunloye of mismanaging the project during his tenure from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, the EFCC has interrogated Agunloye in September regarding an alleged $6 billion Build, Operate and Transfer contract.
In a separate announcement, the EFCC has also declared Iluyomade Tolulope Akunwale, 39, as wanted in a case of obtaining money by false pretense.
Both posts encourage individuals with any valuable information about their whereabouts to contact the EFCC or the nearest police station.
It read, "Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Benin, Kaduna, Ibadan, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Markurdi, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Uyo, Port Harcourt, and Abuja offices or through this number +2348093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng or the nearest police station and any other security agencies."
