Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his congratulations to Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala for their outstanding achievements as the African Players of the Year in the men and women categories respectively.
Additionally, Sanwo-Olu commended Chiamaka Nnadozie for her remarkable performance as the 2023 Confederation of African Football Women's Goalkeeper. In a recent statement, the governor expressed his delight as a football enthusiast and Nigerian citizen to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of these talented individuals at the #CAFAwards2023. He expressed his immense joy for Victor Osimhen, who brought Nigeria back to the top of the male individual awards after 24 years by winning the 2023 African Men's Player of the Year.
Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged Asisat Oshoala's exceptional achievement as she secured her sixth Women's Player of the Year award.
Furthermore, he congratulated Nadozie Chiamaka for being named the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year and praised the Super Falcons for their recognition as the 2023 National Team of the Year (Women).
