LASTMA Removes Tricyclists Vandalizing Lagos Street

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has taken action against tricyclists, commonly known as Keke drivers, on Anifowoshe street in Ikeja.

This action was prompted by a complaint from a resident in the area who accused the Keke drivers of defacing the street.

In response to a post by the Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, a user named MoSimple raised concerns about the issue.

She expressed, "Dear Commissioner, I appreciate the great work you are doing. Keke NAPEP drivers have transformed my street at Anifowoshe, Ikeja into a mechanic village.

"They deface the street and park indiscriminately, and they insult anyone who complains. I have sent messages to the designated WhatsApp group."

Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, addressed the comment and assured that measures would be taken.

In a post on Saturday, Giwa stated that he had instructed LASTMA officials to remove the Keke drivers.

Accompanied by photos from the operation, he wrote, "Following my instructions, personnel from #followlastma have removed the offending tricyclists and restored order on the street.

"We are dedicated to providing responsive governance."
