PART 2

"I jumped from the bed and started asking her why she wants to cut my hair, she called me by my third name(only my mom calls me that) and ordered me to sit down. I refused and she started to pursue me in my room.

She was chasing me with so much anger and I was so certain she would hurt me if she gets hold of me. She mistakenly tripped and fell while chasing me, the calabash fell off her hands and broke.

As soon as the calabash broke, the whole room became filled with smoke and I rushed out to catch some breathe and woke up. I was soo terrified like it happened physically and I prayed aggressively as soon as I woke up.

I went to my mom's room to check on her and she was still asleep. I couldn't sleep again till morning and I went about my daily activities. While sweeping our house, I saw my mom's best friend pass our house and coincidentally she was in the exact attire my mom wore in my dream.

I didn't even greet her because I was still very annoyed about the hurtful words she said to my mum. I continued my prayers every night for two weeks and felt satisfied with it. After three months, my mom and I were eating one morning and someone knocked.

We opened the door and it was that woman. She immediately knelt down and started apologizing to my mom. She told her she is being tormented and needs to reduce her burden by apologizing to her. She was speaking like someone having insanity issues.

She confessed a lot of things, how she initiated my mom through her food so she could have access to my mum's children and turn their heart away from her. How it was out of jealousy and is deeply sorry. She was still speaking and I started screaming.

Immediately people gathered in our house, she denied every single thing she said and started calling my mom a wi.tc.h, a liar, manipulator etc. I was shocked and embarrassed at the same time. I nearly beat that woman up that day out of anger but people stopped me.

Those people took the woman out and told her to keep away from us. My mom was just speechless and crying. I kept wondering why that woman would do such to my mom. They are both widows but her children are doing perfectly fine, infact her children are all abroad except her last daughter that lives in Nigeria with her husband.

She knows my mom's struggle and suffering, how could she pretend to so much love my mom and yet wishes her bad. What if she is behind my mom's sudden blindness? I thought of going to a native doctor but finally decided to leave it to God.

It wasn't up to a month, we heard of the woman's death. Rumors were all over the village that she was struck by a deity because her body was so black like charcoal. Some said she was very ill, some said she was po.is.oned etc. Whichever was true, I didn't care. I was so happy she was gone.

She was buried this December. My greatest surprise was my siblings coming back for Christmas after almost 3 years of no communication whatsoever! My mom has been Soo happy but I don't honestly know how I feel about it. I'm not happy with them, I feel betrayed, I feel so much h.at.e for them.

It's been four days my siblings returned home with lots of gift and apology, it still doesn't feel like reality to me. Who knows? They could still abandon us."
