Ex governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa mourns Canada—based Nigerian lawyer, Ayokunle Odekunle.



  Ifeanyi Okowa, the former Governor of Delta State, expressed his deep sadness over the passing of Ayokunle Odekunle, a Nigerian lawyer based in Canada, who lost his battle with stage 4 cancer. 

  In a post on his X account, Okowa praised Odekunle's brilliance, dedication, and passion for the party, and extended his heartfelt condolences to Odekunle's wife, Halimah, and their children. Odekunle's death was announced by #KayceeMaduYEG on Saturday, who described him as a brilliant young lawyer who had achieved great things despite his illness.

   Okowa described Odekunle as a rare young man and expressed his sadness that such a promising life had been cut short by cancer. He offered his prayers for peace and extended his condolences to Odekunle's family and the PDP family. Odekunle had worked as a barrister and solicitor at Queck and

  Associates Law Office in Alberta, Canada. He graduated from the University of Ibadan in 2011 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012 before being called to the Alberta Bar in 2023.

   Ayokunle was employed at Kenna Partners, a prominent commercial litigation firm in Nigeria. In his role as a litigator in Nigeria, he handled numerous high-profile cases on behalf of various multinational companies and achieved successful outcomes.

   Ayokunle's legal practice primarily focuses on Family Law, Immigration, Wills and Estate, and general litigation. Following his passing, he is survived by his wife and children.
