One of the most talented left back in the world of football history, has announced his retirement from professional football. The Brazilian defender has had an illustrious career, playing for some of the biggest clubs in Europe and South America. He started his career at Figueirense in Brazil before moving to Ajax in the Netherlands. However, it was at Atlético Madrid where he made his name, playing a pivotal role in their success under Diego Simeone.

During his time at Atlético Madrid, Filipe Luis won a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey, a UEFA Super Cup, and a Europa League. He also played a crucial role in their run to the Champions League final in 2014, where they were narrowly beaten by city rivals Real Madrid. After four successful seasons at Atlético Madrid, Filipe Luis moved to Chelsea in the Premier League, where he won a Premier League title and a Carabao Cup.

However, after just one season at Chelsea, Filipe Luis returned to Atlético Madrid, where he continued to impress. He won another Europa League title and a Supercopa de España before returning to Brazil to play for Flamengo. At Flamengo, he won a Brasileirão, a Supercopa do Brasil, a Recopa Sudamericana, a Brazilian Cup, and two Copa Libertadores.

Filipe Luis also had a successful international career, representing Brazil at the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2019 Copa América, which Brazil won. He made a total of 41 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
